By 2016, Mellisa Owusu Ansah had spent more than a decade caring for families inside hospitals and care facilities across the region, including MedStar Franklin Square. She kept running into the same problem, and it stayed with her: families were shuffled through systems that treated them like case numbers, where the bottom line mattered more than the person sitting in the room. A registered nurse with a Master’s in Nursing Leadership & Organizational Management, she decided to build something better on her own terms. Trust Home Care began as a promise that expert, personal attention and real respect for a family’s wishes could finally share the same address.
What started as one nurse’s mission now supports seniors and their family members throughout Washington, from Bowie and Upper Marlboro to Silver Spring, Chevy Chase, and across Prince George’s County, with a growing presence in Northern Virginia. Every caregiver on our team clears a careful background check and skills assessment before stepping through your door, and we keep investing in their growth year after year. Mellisa Owusu Ansah
I am Mellisa Owusu Ansah, MSN, BSN, RN, the Principal Administrator of Trust Home Care, Inc., a home health care agency committed to providing high-quality, compassionate, and reliable care. I hold an Associate Degree in Nursing from Prince George’s Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Management from American Sentinel University.
Since 2016, I have led Trust Home Care, Inc., overseeing daily operations, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and financial management. I work closely with a dedicated team of nurses, therapists, and caregivers and collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners to ensure individualized care plans and positive outcomes for our clients. My leadership philosophy centers on excellence, collaboration, and patient safety.
My professional background includes experience as a Registered Nurse in subacute rehabilitation and medical-surgical settings, as well as serving as a Facility Surveyor conducting on-site surveys and investigating patient care concerns. These experiences have shaped my commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement in home health care.
